When Zam the brother of one of our fabulous brides and his fiance Selina told us they wanted to have their wedding five months after his sister we could not have been more delighted, this meant we got to stay with the family even longer than usual.
This time the events were to be set in Seville in October, the most perfect time for this wonderful city with the orange trees abundant with the fruit giving everywhere the wonderful small that is pure Spain.
Selina fell in love with Seville a couple of years earlier on a visit with a friend and immediately knew that even though at the time she was single when she did get married this is where she wanted to be amongst the history and atmosphere of this magical city.
When Zam and Selina visited Seville together for the first time he was immediately under the same spell… This would be their place when the big day came.
After several flying visits to check on the three venues we would host the parties in, taste the food and wine it was time!
The wedding and events took place over three days with guests flying in from all over the world.
The first evening the welcome party with all the guests dressed in white was held overlooking the water on the terrace of one of the city’s landmark venues Abades Triana.
On arrival, every guest was given a pin or buttonhole of a deep red Carnation bringing a wonderful contrast to the white outfits… and then our bride Selina arrived Stunning in a red gown the exact colour of the flowers all the guests were wearing.
The evening was filled with chatter, fun and laughter, family and friends mingling with soft tunes being played in the background by the Spanish guitarist.
After dinner, Selina stepped up to the mic to thank all their guests for travelling to be with them and urging them to really party the weekend away… which they did for sure.
With the next day for guests to relax and prepare the optimum team were at the next venue Hacienda El Vizir early to make sure that everything was perfect for the party to begin.
This evening was full of wonderful Indian street food provided by our favourite catering company Passage to India who travelled from Lisbon in Portugal as we never ever have any worry that the food will be more than delicious with this company.
During the evening the ladies could enjoy Mehndi with wonderful designs created with lightning speed before the groom being well and truly egged during his Pithi after being covered in the traditional paste of Turmeric and flour! Zam took this is a great spirit and after the laughter died down we rushed him and his boys off to the shower to get ready for the dance-off between Zam’s crew and Selina’s tribe the fun was palpable with DJ Ravi who we flew in from London making sure we had the sounds of Bollywood blasting out. I can tell you it wasn’t easy to get this crowd back onto the buses to go home but we had a really big day the next day so they all needed their beauty sleep.

The final and biggest day of all had arrived! The family and many guests were staying at the Hotel Alfonso XIII where the dinner and reception were being hosted that evening.
The religious wedding ceremony at the Casa de Guardiola a former palace just a few minutes walk from the Hotel and people in the streets stopped to watch the bridal party walkthrough, this all took on a real feeling of Spain with a flamenco dancer along the way, clapping and cheers followed the smiling faces of Selina her father and her bridesmaids all splendid in soft pink Indian outfits.
After the ceremony which was filled with music played for us by Quike Navarro on his electric violin, there was the serving of the traditional sherbet and many many photos, we then guided all the guests on the short walk back to the Alfonso XIII for the reception held in the stunning inner courtyard with Guillermo Fernandez on the saxophone, followed by dinner in the ballroom.

As with all our weddings, there was dancing during dinner this time with the music from Who killed the DJ, after speeches, cake cutting and the first dance everyone was so ready for the after-party so we moved them down to the Salon Betis where they partied hard until the early hours.
We had done it!! Everyone had the most amazing weekend, two weddings for the same family in the same year is a wonderful accolade for optimum weddings and I am so proud of my team and all the venues and suppliers that we worked with on this wedding.
During the whole weekend, there was another shining star for us and we love her Zam’s Grandma… I hope we have her vigour and zest for life at 85 years young!
Thank you again Zam and Selina for your confidence in us and thank you to your whole family for welcoming us in and making us not just your wedding planners but firm friends forever.
We were very proud to have this wedding featured in Absolutely Weddings spring/summer issue.
